Rochester man found with stolen handgun during traffic stop

The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Rochester arrested a man on multiple charges Monday.

According to a news release, troopers arrested Tareek R. Grice Jr., 23, of Greece for criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of stolen property, and criminal possession of a controlled substance.


Troopers stopped Grice on Lake Avenue in Rochester for a traffic violation. Upon investigation into the traffic stop, Grice was found to be operating the motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license. He was also found to be in possession of crack cocaine and a handgun. The handgun was found to have been stolen out of the State of Florida.

Grice was remanded to the Monroe County Jail to await arraignment.
