COVID-19 vaccine, negative test will be required for Cornell, Ithaca students returning in the fall

Ithaca College and Cornell University say they will require new and returning students to be fully-vaccinated against COVID-19.

Students will also need to provide a negative COVID-19 test when returning.

The Ithaca Voice detailed the policies rolled out by both schools, which include use of PCR and at-home antigen tests as means to prove a student is not infected.

“As we continue to plan and reinforce policies as they relate to COVID-19, we are also closely monitoring the worldwide spread of Monkeypox,” Ithaca College officials said in an email in late-July. “Tompkins County and other surrounding counties have all reported their first cases in recent days. Policies and procedures are currently being developed.”
