Stimulus payments totaling up to $500 will soon be sent to thousands of residents this summer as inflation continues to rise.

New Mexico will be sending stimulus payments in the form of tax rebates to qualifying residents.
The state actually has two programs this summer, one of which already sent payments.
The first one sent as much as $1,000 to residents, but there were no income or requirements to see that payment.
This time, there is.

Your income will determine if you qualify for this round of stimulus checks.
The income you make also depends on your filing status.

Joint filers that made less than $150,000 will see $500 stimulus payments.
Payments began being processed on July 5 and will continue to be sent each week.
All payments are expected to be issued by the end of July.
