Thousands of Americans can soon expect a stimulus check worth $1,200 as Golden State Stimulus batches go out.
These checks are from California’s Golden State I and Golden State II stimulus program.
Checks sent under this program were worth between $1,100 and $1,200.
62,000 checks were sent in March from these programs.
12.9 million checks have been sent since 2021 in the state of California.
99% of these checks have already been issued, but that 1% is set to go out within weeks.
Who is still waiting on one of these stimulus checks?
Most of the people receiving these payments filed non-resident state income tax returns.
To qualify, your income needs to be below $75,000 and your 2020 taxes need to have been filed before Oct. 15, 2021.
According to The Sun, there will be more than 10,000 checks going out this month.
It was originally expected that there would be less than 10,000.
It can take up to three weeks for you to receive a paper check and a few business days to receive a direct deposit.
