Mortgage rates rise and drop this week; Americans still can’t afford the housing market
Who is eligible?
In Connecticut, applications for the Child Tax Credit opened on June 1. Households can get up to $250 per child, with a maximum of three kids. The state had a $4 billion budget surplus and decided to give some of that money back to the taxpayers. The payments are expected to go out in August.
In order to apply, you must meet the income guidelines:
- Single or married and filing separately: $100,000 or less
- Head of household: $160,000 or less
- Married filing jointly: $200,000 or less
Connecticut’s Department of Revenue Services sent postcards in May to over 300,000 families that might qualify.
If your income is above the limit, you may be eligible for a reduced rebate. There will be a 10% reduction for every $1,000 over the income guidelines. The maximum benefit per household is $750.
You can apply by clicking here. Keep in mind that the application period ends on July 31, 2022.
