Additional pandemic benefit is ending

Starting June 1, Georgia SNAP beneficiaries will see less money each month. Amid the pandemic many beneficiaries were struggling so each household got at least $95 extra each month. Many families received much more than the $95 extra, but it will be going away and will be at pre-COVID levels. Find more about it here.

Removing these additional benefits comes at a tough time for many with inflation being at an all-time high and food prices are surely included in that.

Food banks statewide are working to prepare for the sudden increase in demand now that many people will have less money to spend on food.
