A few different states have programs to distribute payments this summer.
Here are five payments you may qualify for this summer.
1. Chicago gas card
50,000 prepaid gas cards for $50 and 100,000 public transit cards for $100 are being distributed across Chicago. 75,000 of the transit cards will go to low income households. 75% of the gas cards will go to residents in the South and West side neighborhoods. 2. Golden State Stimulus
California introduced to cash relief programs in 2021: Golden State I and Golden State Stimulus II. Both allowed residents to claim up to $1,200.
In order to qualify for either, your income must be under $75,000 and have filed your 2020 tax return by October 15, 2021.
3. Delaware tax rebate
Delaware is sending out tax rebates: $300 to taxpayers filing single and $600 to couples filing jointly.
In order to receive the rebate, you must have you 2020 state tax return filed. It is expected that 600,000 residents will get the benefit.
4. Indiana tax rebate
Indiana is also issuing tax rebates. Married couples filing jointly will get $250 and single taxpayers will get $125. To qualify for the rebate, your 2020 taxes will need have been filed before January 3, 2022.
5. New York UBI program
In Ithaca, around 100 caregivers will get $450 payments as a part of New York’s universal income program.
They define a caregiver as someone who contributes significant unpaid time caring for an aging or disabled adult.
