The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Department is taking part in the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, sponsored by the federal Drug Enforcement Agency.
It’s at Kinney Drugs at 130 Main Street in Moravia Saturday from 10-2. Cayuga County Sheriff Brian Schenck says it’s important to keep unwanted prescription medications out of circulation and out of the water supply.
A recent drug take back event held in partnership with the Auburn Police Department, the Elks Lodge, Healing Communities and the Cayuga County Drug Free Task Force was a big success. If you can’t make it to Kinney Drugs Saturday, there are drug drop off boxes in the lobby of the Sheriff’s office, at the Auburn Police Department and at several other locations. Many other counites in the Finger Lakes have drop off locations, as well.
