The Rochester Red Wings defeated the Lehigh Valley IronPigs for the second straight night at Coca-Cola Field, this time by a final score of 4-3.
Jackson Tetreault got the start fro Rochester and allowed two runs over 4.1 innings while striking out five and walking four. Reed Garrett allowed one run in relief while Jordan Weems and Alberto Baldonado each recorded scoreless appearances.
Rochester scored all four of their runs in the first two innings. Josh Palacios opened the scoring with a RBI single to right in the first. In the second, Chris Herrmann hammered a two-run double to left and later scored on a throwing error by the catcher.
Donny Sands put Lehigh Valley on the board in the third with a two-run single to center.
Drew Maggi cut Rochester’s lead to 4-3 in the sixth with a RBI single to center.
Stevenson, Banks, Palacios and Herrmann each had two hits in the win.
Rochester will go for its third consecutive victory on Saturday night as the two teams continue the six-game series at 6:35 p.m.
