It was changed up a bit, but the Odessa Fire Department held its annual toy giveaway again this year.
WETM-TV reports due to COVID-19, the giveaway became a drive through event this year. Families registered through the village website and made appointments to come by and pick up the toys. Fire Chief John Jelliff says the number of families taking advantage of the program dropped to about 25-30 this year, but he says he’s glad the families who needed help were able to get it.
The Fire Department has hosted the toy giveaway for over 50 years.
