CNY Feeds is building a dairy feed mill in Avon to serve growing demand from New York’s dairy industry, according to the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle.
The facility occupies 17 acres off William Bruckel Drive near Interstate 390, with a railroad spur serving the property.
Construction is expected to finish in summer 2027, marking the family-owned company’s first geographic expansion after 35 years in Jordan.
The mill is expected to match the existing plant’s capacity, with potential expansions allowing it to process up to 50% more.
CNY Feeds expects to hire six to eight employees initially, increasing to 12 to 15 if it adds a second shift.
