Police provide update on Chase bank robbery in Canandaigua: No suspects in custody yet

The Canandaigua Police Department provided its first update on the bank robbery that happened Monday afternoon at the Chase Bank on South Main Street.

Around 2:10 p.m. two black males, wearing dark hooded sweatshirts, dark hats, and face masks entered the bank together and passed notes to two different tellers.

The notes demanded a specified amount of cash. The suspects then fled the area southbound on foot and were last seen traveling west on Coach Street.

At the same time, a witness reported seeing a gray sedan fleeing the area at a high rate of speed- traveling west on Chapin Street.

The investigation remains active, and police did not indicate any suspects were in custody. Anyone with information is asked to call 585-337-2107.
