Today, Wednesday Nov. 3, the Supreme Court will be discussing what the Constitution will say when it comes to carrying firearms in public.
New York State officials are attempting to create stricter limitations on carrying weapons outside of the home within the state, and the Supreme Court is listening.
The last time the amendment was changed or discussed was in 2008 when the Supreme Court voted to allow residents to keep firearms inside of their home for self defense. It also showed that other regulations when it comes to guns are permissible.
The most recent discussion on gun control was in 2010 comparing federal and state gun laws.
This latest discussion is on whether the right to bear arms in self defense extends outside of the home, and whether the second amendment is being twisted to mean something else.
