In anticipation of the loss of staff due to the vaccine mandate beginning Monday, Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse has decided to cut their operating rooms from 35 to 13.
The priority for surgeries will be medically necessary ones as well as time-sensitive and trauma surgeries.
Elective surgeries have already been postponed.
In a statement released by Upstate University Hospital, they stated that they hope to resume a full surgical schedule as soon as possible.
