In just the first week of school starting the Cayuga County Health Department says there is a rising number of positive COVID-19 cases among students.
They remind parents that they need to keep kids home when they are sick, even if they think it’s just allergies.
They also ask that those who know they have been exposed monitor themselves for symptoms and avoiding interacting with others.
Due to the large number of cases, Cayuga County suspects there is a 5 day lag for contacting individuals who have tested positive.
