Many people love visiting the New York State Fair to see the butter sculpture, but what happens to it after the Fair ends?
Noblehurst Farms helps to recycle the butter every year.
The butter is turned into renewable energy for the community near the Livingston-Genesee county line and helps develop liquid fertilizer.
The butter is delivered in plastic bags, all 800 pounds, and goes into a digestor for four weeks creating what farm owner Chris Noble calls “bio-gas.”
