The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development will be giving the Wayne County Action Program $1 million dollars.
The money will help pay for a new program that works to keep seniors in their homes in Wayne, Ontario, and Cayuga Counties.
The goal of this is to allow older adults to age in their homes instead of being moved to a nursing home or facility.
The program works to modify the homes and keep them safe for those who would otherwise need to go to an assisted care facility.
