The Ontario County District Attorney’s Office reported multiple felony convictions and prison sentences this week, including cases involving sexual abuse, harassment, burglary, and fraud.
Shelbi Hamman was sentenced on June 30 to 1 year and 4 months to 4 years in state prison after pleading guilty to third-degree burglary stemming from a May 2024 incident in the Town of Victor. The sentence also includes restitution and a $50 DNA fee.
In a separate case, John Evans was sentenced on June 26 to 3 years in prison and 5 years of post-release supervision for first-degree sexual abuse related to a 2019 incident in Geneva. He was ordered to pay a $1,050 sex offender registration fee, a $325 surcharge, and a $50 DNA fee.
Jermaine L. Holloway received 3.5 years in state prison and 5 years of post-release supervision after pleading guilty to aggravated harassment and falsely reporting an incident. His sentence includes financial penalties totaling $375.
Following a jury trial, Dakota Murphy was found guilty of first-degree sexual abuse for offenses occurring between January and May 2024 in the City of Canandaigua. Murphy was sentenced to 18 years in prison and 20 years of post-release supervision, along with fees totaling $1,425.
Ronald Sennett also appeared in court and pleaded guilty to attempted grand larceny and driving while ability impaired, both from a December 2024 incident in Canandaigua. He was sentenced to concurrent prison terms of 2–4 years and 1–3 years.
Plea deals were also entered by Juan Garcia-Rivera and Jordan Malaney. Garcia-Rivera pleaded guilty to fourth-degree welfare fraud and will be sentenced in August. Malaney admitted to second-degree strangulation, with sentencing scheduled for June 2026.
