The City Council in Corning has approved the closure of Market Street for Corning’s event “Re-Discover Corning” over the 4th of July weekend.
“Re-Discover Corning” will begin July 1 and conclude on July 6, allowing for five total days of no traffic on the street and pedestrian-only use. This is one of Corning’s biggest events and will be the only traffic closure planned for summer of 2021.
Last summer Corning closed Market Street for pedestrian-only use in order to allow more room for outdoor dining for the restaurants and bars in the area.
