After the violence in Washington D.C. on January 6th many were concerned about more of it on Inauguration Day.
There was added security at state capitols around the U.S., including Albany, as the day approached. The assumption was that even if there was no violence – it would be expected that some protests would take place.

That didn’t happen.
As Spectrum News reported on Inauguration Day – only one demonstrator showed up to the Capitol Building in Albany, hoping for a peaceful protest.
Mark Leggiero drove 45 minutes and told Spectrum he was surprised to be the only one there.
“I couldn’t make it down to D.C., I’m sure everyone is down in D.C. now,” Leggiero explained. “I’m not sure, but I was hoping to find a few thousand people down here doing a peaceful protest to try and get our voices heard. And here I am by myself.”
