Three people were critically injured in a crash that happened in Throop during the overnight hours.
The Throop Fire Department said in a Facebook post that first responders were called to a one-car crash on Turnpike Road between Lewis and Powers roads before the outlet bridge around 2:17 a.m.
Upon arrival, one vehicle was found upright with heavy damage. Three occupants were said to be in critical condition.
Throop Fire Department, AMR Ambulance, TLC Ambulance, Jordan Ambulance, and Aurelius Rescue all responded to the scene. Mercy Flight had been placed on standby, but was not requested.
Throop fire officials said that the Auburn Police Department and Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office also responded. “Great job by the Cayuga County E911 Dispatch Center with Interoperable Communications amongst all agencies,” the department wrote on Facebook.
Cayuga County and Throop highway departments also responded to the scene.
