Clyde teen charged with manslaughter, vehicular manslaughter after fatal crash

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of a 19-year-old Clyde driver following a fatal crash in March 2020.

Gregory Bailey, 19, of Clyde was taken into custody on several charges including second degree manslaughter, second degree vehicular manslaughter, second degree assault, second degree vehicular assault, driving while intoxicated, and driving while ability impaired by drugs.


Deputies say Bailey was transported to the Wayne County Jail and will appear in Wayne County Court to answer the charges.

The crash happened on Route 31 in the town of Galen.

At the time, the Sheriff’s Office indicated that 30-year-old David Fischette Jr. died in the wreck. Another passenger of Bailey’s vehicle, 18-year-old Jenna Carnevale was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital.
