Deputies in Wayne County report the investigation of a two-car personal injury crash that happened on Route 31 in the Town of Galen.
Deputies say Madison Mason, 18, of Lyons and Jack Sherlock, 22, of South Carolina were said to be in separate vehicles, traveling the same direction on Route 31.
That’s when deputies say Mason attempted to pass Sherlock as he was making a left turn. Mason struck the front end of Sherlock’s vehicle causing her vehicle to veer off the roadway and strike a tree.
Deputies say Mason’s vehicle came to rest on its roof and she had to be extricated by fire personnel. She was airlifted for treatment of her injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Lyons and Clyde Ambulance assisted at the scene, as did the Clyde Fire Department.
