Polling shows Katko-Balter locked in close race for 24th District

Polling released over the weekend shows a tight race between Republican Congressman John Katko and Democratic Challenger Dana Balter in the 24th District.

The Siena College/Syracuse.com poll shows Balter with a slight lead – capturing 45% of the vote, compared to Katko’s 42%.

The poll has a margin of error around 5%.

There’s a third candidate involved in the race. If Working Families Party candidate Steven Williams remains on the ballot – it shifts Katko and Balter’s take among voters slipping by 2-3 points.

However, the outcome remains the same, per the poll.
