President Trump will spend ‘few days’ at Walter Reed Hospital after testing positive for COVID-19

President Donald Trump is headed to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

That was the word that came down late-Friday afternoon after the announcement that both He and Melania Trump tested positive for the virus.

At this point, the Associated Press reports that Trump will spend a ‘few days’ at the hospital.

The virus has killed more than 205,000 Americans.

“President Trump remains in good spirts, has mild symptoms, and has been working throughout the day,” said press secretary Kayleigh McEnany. “Out of an abundance of caution, and at the recommendation of his physician and medical experts, the president will be working from the presidential offices at Walter Reed for the next few days.”

This story will be updated as more information becomes available.

President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump have tested positive for Coronavirus

President Trump tweeted the news out shortly after midnight – noting that both had tested positive for the virus, and that they would get through it together.

Senior aide Hope Hicks had tested positive for the virus earlier this week, and had traveled with President Trump.

The 74-year-old is at higher risk of complication from the virus. However, those around the President have said he is in good spirits.

“Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!” Trump tweeted.

Symptoms of COVID-19 can include fever, cough and breathing trouble. Most people develop only mild symptoms. However, some people have developed medical complications, which has increased concerns around the virus in older people.
