Deputy accused of side-swiping vehicle in Wayne County, but investigation finds statements were false

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of two Wolcott residents following an investigation into false statements made to investigators.

Zylinda Zanders, 18, and Jazzmin Edmondson, 31, both of Wolcott were charged with falsely reporting an incident and making a punishable false written statement.

Deputies say that on July 26th, the two reported that Edmondson was operating her vehicle on Armitage Road in Glane when she was side-swiped by a police vehicle.

Upon further investigation, it was determined that she was not in the vehicle and that no other vehicles were involved in the collision.

Investigators determined that Zanders was operating the vehicle when she struck a guide rail. Both were arrested and issued appearance tickets for a later date.
