Sheriff: Newark man charged with DWI, found to have no license after crash investigation

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Newark man for driving while intoxicated following a property damage crash on Miller Road in the town of Arcadia.

Deputies say Marcos Torres-Rosario, 59, of Newark was traveling north on Finewood Road when he failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection of Miller Road.

His vehicle crossed Miller Road and struck a culvert pipe on the north shoulder.

Deputies say during investigation of the crash, Torres-Rosario admitted consuming alcohol prior to driving. He was placed under arrest after failing field sobriety tests.

He refused to submit a chemical test and was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to stop for a stop sign, speed no reasonable, operating without a license, and aggravated unlicensed operation.

The charges will be answered in Arcadia Town Court at a later date.
