Last month, a company in Seneca Falls committed to taking on a major role in the local fight against the Novel Coronavirus, or COVID-19.
On Wednesday, the company announced that it had started the process of manufacturing face shields.
It’s the kind of action that can have a big impact how prepared local hospitals and health professionals are for the pandemic that has already devastated other parts of New York.
“I could not be more proud of our team and how quick they’ve shifted gears and turned our dental laboratory into a production and assembly line that can produce face shields for local hospitals,” Bonafiglia said.
And that work is happening now. At this point, Bonafiglia says he’s optimistic that more than 1,000 shields will be produced by the end of the week.
“I’m grateful to all the team members at BonaDent and Danaren and of course the brave healthcare workers on the front line,” he added.
The company says it will continue facilitating donations in form of PPE to provide to those on the frontlines of the COVID-19 fight.
