Three sent to hospital after Canandaigua crash

Deputies say that three people were sent to Thompson Hospital after a two-car crash on State Route 5&20 in Canandaigua.

The crash happened at the intersection of 5&20 and County Road 50.

Deputies say Dewey Reeder, 74, of Canandaigua was traveling west on 5&20 approaching the County Road 50 intersection when his vehicle struck another – operated by Ford Freeman, 73, and Karin Freeman, 67, which was stopped at a stop light.

Investigators found that Reeder was having a medical issue which caused him to run into the rear of Freeman’s vehicle.

All three involved were sent to Thompson Hospital. Reeder was found to be at fault for the accident, but not ticketed due to the medical condition that prompted it.
