Canandaigua woman leads police on high speed pursuit after domestic incident

Deputies report the arrest of a Canandaigua woman following a domestic incident and high speed pursuit in Ontario County.

On Sunday at approximately 10:57 p.m. deputies were called to 6298 Goodale Road in Canandaigua for the report of a domestic incident.

Deputies were informed that the suspect, identified as Laura Rachel Baughman, 46, of Canandaigua was leaving the residence in a gray Volvo.

That vehicle was spotted, and a pursuit ensued, resulting in speeds of 80 to 85 mph being registered by the suspect.

The pursuit eventually entered the Town of Bristol, at which point the vehicle came to halt. Deputies say that Baughman was taken into custody and identified as being in an intoxicated condition.

She was charged with DWI, but also charged with unlawfully fleeing a police officer and third-degree assault from the domestic incident.
