Local Red Cross volunteers preparing to help citizens impacted by Dorian

As Florida braces for Hurricane Dorian, two local volunteers from the American Red Cross are among those preparing to head south to help people in the storm’s path.

Sarah Perkins of Pittsford will be managing damage assessment, while Tom Purnell of Rochester will be working as a liaison to government operations.

To assist the Red Cross’ efforts, visit the organization’s website, call 1-800-RED-CROSS, donate blood or make a $10 donation by texting DORIAN to 90999.
