Three children left unattended inside vehicle at del Lago; felony charges filed against one parent

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Sunday at 6:30 a.m. deputies responded  to del Lago Resort & Casino in the Town of Tyre for the report of children left in an unattended vehicle.

Upon arrival deputies made contact with Tabitha L. Drager, 26, a Greece resident; and Jesus M. Vargas, 39, of Rochester. Investigation determined that they had left their three children inside the vehicle when they went into the casino.

Deputies said the kids were identified as eleven-, four- and one- years old.

Deputies also said that drugs and drug paraphernalia were also found  in the vehicle with the children. The drugs were accessible to the children inside the vehicle.



Both Drager and Vargas were charged  with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Vargas was also charged with Tampering with physical evidence, a Class E felony; and Criminal possession of a controlled substance, a Class B felony for unlawfully possessing cocaine with the intent to sell.

The children were turned over to family members and Child Protective Services was notified.
