A New York State trooper was hit by a tractor trailer Wednesday morning while working at a crash scene in Corning.
This happened on State Route 86 shortly after 9 a.m.
According to State Police, Trooper Jacob Wackowski was parked in his patrol car with his emergency lights on, helping with traffic control at a weather-related crash. While on scene, he was side swiped by a passing tractor-trailer.
Wackowski was taken to Corning Hospital to be treated for minor injuries. The driver of the tractor trailer, 53-year-old Troy English, was issued tickets for failure to obey the Move Over Law and several other vehicle and traffic violations.
In addition, English had multiple warrants issued for him, including identity theft in North Carolina and violation of a court order for failure to pay a fine in Pennsylvania.
English was arraigned in Corning City Court and remanded to the Steuben County Jail on $500 cash or $1,000 bond.
