The Seneca County man who was sentenced to life without parole after a jury found him guilty of killing two people has filed a notice of appeal.
Last week, a judge sentenced Emerson "John" Tohafjian in the shooting deaths of 53-year-old Lori McConnell and 45-year-old Chuck Andrus in Waterloo last July. Tohafjian also wounded a third victim, Karen Zdunko.
During Tohafjian's sentencing, Judge Rick Healy said the evidence against him was overwhelming.
Tohafjian's attorneys argue their client didn't receive a fair trial and that the evidence in the case didn't support the jury's verdict.
