An Elmira man faces two felony charges after a child sexual abuse material investigation that began nearly a year before his arrest, State Police said.
Conner Benjamin, 21, was arrested Tuesday, Nov. 3, on charges of promoting a sexual performance by a child, a Class D felony, and possessing a sexual performance by a child, a Class E felony, according to State Police.
The investigation began in November 2025 after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a CyberTipline report concerning suspected child sexual abuse material.
Investigators executed a search warrant at a residence in the city of Elmira on Feb. 12 and seized electronic devices for forensic examination.
Police said that examination identified multiple images depicting suspected child sexual abuse material.
The Bureau of Criminal Investigation at Horseheads conducted the investigation with help from the Troop E Computer Crimes Unit.
Benjamin was taken into custody without incident and processed at the Horseheads barracks.
He was arraigned in Town of Horseheads Court and released on his own recognizance with conditions.
His next scheduled appearance is Nov. 10 in Elmira City Court.
