A dispute in the Ithaca Police Department parking lot Saturday night led to charges of resisting arrest, harassment and disorderly conduct against a 37-year-old Ithaca man, police said.
Officers responded to the side parking lot at 120 E. Clinton St. around 9:28 p.m. and found one man fleeing another who was threatening and attacking him, according to a police news release.
Police identified the man they arrested as Alexander Mosher and said he physically resisted an officer who tried to take him into custody.
Mosher kicked, spit at and attempted to bite officers during the struggle, police said.
Neither Mosher nor the officers were injured, according to the department.
Mosher was charged with resisting arrest, a Class A misdemeanor, and second-degree harassment and disorderly conduct, both violations.
He was taken to Cayuga Medical Center for an evaluation and is due in Ithaca City Court at a later date, police said.
Police said the investigation remains open and additional criminal charges are pending.
