An Ithaca man faces charges after police said he attacked another man in the Ithaca Police Department's side parking lot and then resisted arrest. Officers responded to the dispute at 120 E. Clinton St. around 9:28 p.m. Oct. 31, according to a department news release.
Police identified Alexander Mosher, 37, of Ithaca, as the primary aggressor. The other man was trying to get away while Mosher threatened and attacked him, police said.
When an officer attempted to arrest Mosher, he physically resisted, kicked and spit at officers, and tried to bite them, according to police.
Officers brought him under control after the struggle. Neither Mosher nor the officers were injured, police said.
Mosher was charged with resisting arrest, a class A misdemeanor, and second-degree harassment and disorderly conduct, both violations. He was taken to Cayuga Medical Center for an evaluation and is due in Ithaca City Court at a later date.
Police said the investigation remains open and additional charges are pending.
