Free Webster sessions to cover downsizing decisions Oct. 20 and 22

Two free sessions in Webster next week will give Rochester-area homeowners and families a chance to ask local professionals about downsizing, asset planning and senior living transitions.

Both programs begin at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, and Thursday, Oct. 22, at Proietti's Italian Restaurant, 980 Ridge Road. Lalla Fitzpatrick, a licensed associate real estate broker with RE/MAX Plus, is promoting the events, according to the event announcement.

The first event in the "Am I Ready to Downsize?" series will feature John D'Aurizio, a New York attorney who has practiced since 1998 and focuses on real estate law. He plans to discuss considerations for protecting assets as people age.

The Oct. 22 session will feature Neil Russell, owner of Caring Transitions and Assisted Living Locators of Rochester. His presentation will address how to begin downsizing and navigate a move, senior living placement and estate transitions.

The programs are intended for older adults, homeowners approaching retirement and relatives helping them evaluate housing choices. The release says the sessions will cover planning ahead, understanding available options and preparing for the practical demands of a move.
