Keuka women’s volleyball split its final two matches of the Keuka College Invitational on Saturday, defeating Keystone College before falling to Hilbert College in a pair of matches to close the weekend. The Wolves finished the invitational with a 2-2 record and moved to 2-3 overall.
Keuka opened the day with a four-set victory over Keystone, getting a strong all-around performance from Alessandra Castañeda. The sophomore finished with 10 kills, 13 digs and a team-high five service aces, recording her first double-double of the season.
The Wolves controlled the opening set against the Giants, using a five-point run that included three straight aces from Castañeda to build an early advantage. After Keystone responded by dominating the second set, Keuka regained control in the third and held off a late push before closing out the fourth set.
Nina Scott added seven kills, seven digs, two aces and three blocks in the victory, while Addisyn Chorney contributed six kills, 10 digs and four aces. Jaylyn Knight also supplied two important service aces during Keuka’s third-set comeback.
The Wolves then faced Hilbert in their final match of the invitational and were unable to complete another comeback, dropping three tightly contested sets.
Keuka built an early 7-1 lead in the opening set behind two aces from Gabby Rodriguez and held a six-point advantage midway through the frame. Hilbert rallied to tie the set at 19 and eventually pulled away late.
The second and third sets followed a similar pattern, with Keuka battling back from deficits but falling short in the closing points.
Rodriguez finished with a match-high 22 digs against Hilbert, while Chorney led Keuka with 10 kills. Elza recorded 20 assists.

Keuka returns to action Wednesday, September 9, at Alfred State College at 6 p.m.
