Hopewell woman accused of violating protection order, breaking apartment window

An Ontario County woman was arrested Thursday night after deputies said she violated an order of protection and intentionally broke a window at a Hopewell apartment.

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded around 10:43 p.m. to a reported family trouble at Patty’s Lodge, 4212 State Route 5 and 20.

Investigators alleged that Chuncey I. Ward, 41, of Hopewell, broke a window to the victim’s apartment during the incident.

Deputies charged Ward with second-degree criminal contempt and third-degree criminal mischief after determining that an active order of protection was in place.

Ward was taken to the Ontario County Jail pending centralized arraignment proceedings, according to the sheriff’s office.
