An Ontario County man was charged with three felony counts of criminal mischief after deputies said three vehicles were damaged early Tuesday in two Hopewell parking lots.
The Ontario County Sheriff's Office said deputies were called at about 3:21 a.m. Sept. 1 to the Walmart at 4238 Recreation Drive for a reported case of criminal mischief.
Deputies said Jason D. Ward, 36, who was listed as homeless in Canandaigua, was identified during a show-up identification procedure following an investigation.
Ward is accused of damaging a window and mirror on a vehicle at Walmart, causing about $1,500 in damage, according to the sheriff's office.
Investigators later determined that two other vehicles had been damaged in the Lowe's parking lot at 4200 Recreation Drive, deputies said. Damage to each of those vehicles was estimated at more than $250.
Ward was charged with three counts of third-degree criminal mischief.
The sheriff's office said he was to be taken to the Ontario County Jail for pre-arraignment detention.
