A North Carolina man was charged with driving while intoxicated after Wayne County sheriff's deputies stopped him Sunday on State Route 104 in Huron.
The Wayne County Sheriff's Office said Henry C. Warren, 70, of Fuquay-Varina, was arrested after deputies responded to a traffic complaint at about 4:17 p.m. July 12.
Deputies said Warren was following too closely, failing to keep right and weaving between the fog line and centerline before the stop.
Warren was taken into custody after completing roadside sobriety tests, according to the sheriff's office. Authorities said a breath test administered at the sheriff's office showed a blood alcohol content of 0.17%.
He was processed at the Wayne County Jail and released with traffic tickets. Warren is scheduled to appear in Huron Town Court at a later date.
The charges are allegations, and Warren is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
