A Dundee man is being held without bail after Wayne County deputies said six people were injured during assaults and home invasions at three residences in the town of Arcadia.
The Wayne County Sheriff's Office said deputies arrested Jonathan Shearin, 34, after an investigation that began with a reported disturbance at a Hydesville Road residence.
Deputies said they found three victims at the first residence who had been assaulted and needed medical attention. The suspect had fled before deputies arrived, according to the sheriff's office.
While deputies were investigating, 911 received another call reporting an assault on Tellier Road. Deputies responded and found that the suspect had again fled, and a victim at that residence had suffered an arm injury when the suspect tried to force entry.
Deputies later found the suspect in a neighboring residence with two occupants who had also been assaulted, according to the sheriff's office.
Six victims from three residences were taken to area hospitals for treatment.
Shearin was charged with five counts of first-degree burglary, one count of second-degree robbery, nine counts of second-degree assault, one count of third-degree assault and two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
The sheriff's office said Shearin was being held at the Wayne County Jail without bail.
Wayne County deputies were assisted by New York State Police, Newark police and Wayne County EMS. Anyone with information who has not spoken with investigators is asked to call the sheriff's office at 315-946-5800.
