A Dundee man was charged with driving while intoxicated after a one-car crash Thursday night on State Route 14 in the town of Starkey, according to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said the crash was reported at 7:07 p.m. on Thursday.
Investigators said Geordan E. Conyers, 28, of Dundee, was traveling north when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a guide wire.
Deputies said they observed signs of intoxication. Conyers was taken by Yates County Ambulance to Schuyler Hospital, where he was placed under arrest.
Conyers was charged with common-law driving while intoxicated and moving from a lane unsafely, according to the sheriff’s office.
The sheriff’s office said Conyers submitted to a chemical test and was released to appear in Starkey Town Court at a later date.
New York State Police assisted at the scene.
