A Penn Yan woman was arrested after Yates County sheriff’s deputies investigated an alleged violation of an order of protection in the town of Starkey.
Tara M. Sy, 47, of Penn Yan, was charged with second-degree criminal contempt, a misdemeanor, following the Sept. 4 investigation.
Deputies said Sy was taken into custody around 7:28 p.m. on East Main Street in Penn Yan.
The sheriff’s office did not provide additional details about how the order was allegedly violated.
Sy was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Starkey Town Court at a later date.
