The F.F. Thompson Foundation raised about $50,000 through its annual Thompson Health Golf Classic, with proceeds going toward capital projects meant to expand access to care across the nonprofit health system.
The tournament was held June 1 at Cobblestone Creek Country Club in Victor and drew 122 golfers, according to University of Rochester Medicine Thompson Health.
The foundation said proceeds will support priority capital initiatives, including a planned expansion of the Birthing Center, a 12-apartment memory care addition at Clark Meadows, a planned primary care and urgent care location in Honeoye Falls, and imaging upgrades that include new MRI machines and a new fluoroscopy unit.
Heather Rickett, director of the F.F. Thompson Foundation, said the event brought out many new supporters as Thompson prepares for future projects. She thanked tournament chairs Coleen Emblidge, Greg Felosky and David DeRaddo, along with presenting sponsor KeyBank and other sponsors and participants.
The foundation is also planning its Twilight in the Trees Gala for Sept. 3 at Hotel Canandaigua. Thompson Health said that event will also benefit the priority capital initiatives advancing access to care.
Thompson Health is part of University of Rochester Medicine and serves residents in Ontario, Livingston and Wayne counties through affiliated health care organizations, including F.F. Thompson Hospital, M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center, FFTH Properties and Services, F.F. Thompson Foundation and F.F.T. Senior Communities.
