Wayne County deputies are investigating the cause of a house fire that drew multiple departments to the town of Marion on Tuesday afternoon.
The Wayne County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded around 3:45 p.m. June 23 to a reported structure fire at 5195 Marion East Williamson Road. Arriving personnel found heavy smoke coming from a split-level residence.
Officials said the fire was contained and quickly extinguished. No injuries were reported.
The Marion Fire Department responded, along with East Williamson, Williamson, Wallington and East Palmyra fire departments. Wayne County EMS also assisted at the scene.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
