Tuesday night trimmed the field down even further as several Wayne-Finger Lakes teams played their way into sectional finals behind big-time performances across the board.
Henry Shutts carried Gananda baseball with 15 strikeouts in a one-hit gem to send the Blue Panthers to the Class C1 championship, while Waterloo softball survived a tight semifinal battle to earn a date with Wayland-Cohocton for the Class B1 title. In girls lacrosse, Penn Yan and Palmyra-Macedon each rolled into the Class D final behind explosive offensive efforts from Bailey Cooper and Baylee Vilord. Canandaigua baseball also kept its postseason run alive with another strong showing at the plate to reach the Class AA2 championship game.
