Wayne-Finger Lakes high school sports: May 27 scoreboard

Championship matchups continued to take shape Wednesday across the Wayne-Finger Lakes region.

Penn Yan boys lacrosse powered into the Class D final with a balanced scoring effort, while Geneva held off Wayne behind a four-goal performance from Ryland Dunham to earn a Class C title meeting with Honeoye Falls-Lima. In girls lacrosse, Victor survived an overtime battle with Irondequoit behind Camryn Adridโ€™s hat trick to move on in Class B, while Pittsford and Livonia/Avon/Geneseo also secured championship berths. On the softball diamond, Dundee/Bradford stayed dominant behind Maeghan Sutrykโ€™s four-RBI night and Adalyn Thamโ€™s 12 strikeouts, punching its ticket to a Class C1 final matchup with Letchworth.

The BraveScots punched its ticket to the Class C1 final behind a dominant all-around effort from Maeghan Sutryk and Adalyn Tham. Sutryk drove in four runs with two hits, including a pair of RBI singles, while Tham struck out 12 and allowed just two hits over 4.2 innings in the circle. Dundee/Bradford broke the game open with a six-run first inning and later added four more runs in the third. Korrin Yeoman also collected two hits as the BraveScots worked nine walks in the win. Dundee/Bradford will now face No. 3 Letchworth in the Class C1 championship game.
