An adolescent offender has been charged after police say a young victim was inappropriately touched in Penn Yan.
Penn Yan Police reported that the incident involved a female victim under the age of 13. Authorities allege the adolescent offender committed forcible touching, a charge that typically involves unwanted physical contact for sexual purposes.
The accused was issued a juvenile appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Family Court, where cases involving minors are handled under a different legal framework than adult criminal court.
Police did not release additional details about the incident, including when or where it occurred, citing the ages of those involved.
